Yoga blocks, although perceived to be for beginners are great tools (or extensions of the body) for all yogis regardless of your ability, beginner to advanced, offering support to enhance poses, ensuring you get the best stretch possible in a safe and effective way. Yoga blocks help to deepen your pose, stretch further and hold for longer by increasing your balance, providing support where you need it and strengthening muscle groups.

Yoga straps help to increase your range of motion and flexibility, simply hold or loop around a body part and use to pull yourself further in to the stretch, pulling the strap through the D ring to deepen the stretch even more. Yoga straps can be used to create resistance and in turn help to improve balance and muscle strength helping to advance your practice.

A medium level mat thickness (between 4-5mm) is often preferred as they allow for solid contact with the ground aiding stability and providing added cushioning for comfort throughout the practice. A good yoga mat will have added grip or texture, helping to secure your poses and reduce the risk of slipping and injury no matter how sweaty you get.
